Kyle Quinn in the Wilson Motorsports class one car was another who looked unstoppable out front. Some of his main competitors were out early, and at one point, the team had a 60 mile lead over second place. Kyle took the start, and handed the car to Greg Distefano at mile 250. Greg took the car to Ronny Wilson at mile 475 who continued to build the lead. Kyle got back in the car at mile 710 for a nice cruise into the finish. That was until he broke a rear lower trailing arm around mile 800. Baja has a way of imposing humility on everyone. The Wilson Motorsports team saved the day by fixing the arm enough to get to the finish in first place. They had a clean run with no penalties. Damen Jeffries was closing in, but was only able to make it close in the end. He had to settle for second. Mike Frye was third and the 178 car of Kevy Nott from Brisbane, Queensland finished the Baja 1000 to fulfill his bucket list.
